Jeremy Dobrish

Jeremy Dobrish is the Artistic Director of the critically acclaimed adobe theatre company which he co-founded in 1991. adobe's unique style has enabled it to become one of New York's most celebrated theatre groups. Jeremy’s plays for adobe include NOTIONS IN MOTION, THE HANDLESS MAIDEN, BLINK OF AN EYE and ORPHEUS & EURYDICE all of which are published by Broadway Play Publishing. Last season the Vineyard Theatre produced his play EIGHT DAYS (BACKWARDS) directed by Mark Brokaw.

Off -Broadway, he recently directed CLASS MOTHERS ’68, a one woman show starring Tomy award winner Priscilla Lopez, THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) which ran for eight months at the Century Center, and THE JOYS OF SEX (2002 NYC Fringe award for excellence in directing). Other recent Off-Broadway directing credits include WPA, The Kirk, Soho Playhouse and two seasons with the Young Playwrights Festival. He also directed the first leg of Norman Lear’s DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ROAD TRIP.

His directing credits for adobe include DUET! with Erin Quinn Purcell and Gregory Jackson, POONA and THE EIGHT both by Jeff Goode as well his own plays ORPHEUS AND EURYDICE, NOTIONS IN MOTION and BLINK OF AN EYE.

He is currently writing an adaptation of Carlo Gozzi's THE KING STAG, and Theatreworks USA has commissioned him to write an adaptation of CURIOUS mehr anzeigen

Jeremy has taught playwriting and directing workshops at Fordham, Washington Irving High School, and through Young Playwrights. He has spoken at NYU, Wesleyan, Brown, the College of Staten Island and Hofstra, and served on panels for ART/NY, The Dramatists Guild, the SDC Foundation and The Drama League. Jeremy is a member of the Dramatists Guild, SSDC, and the Vineyard Theatre’s Community Of Artists.
